Wanda Robin

June 27, 1920 — September 2, 2015

Wanda V. Robin (nee Sliwa), age 95, of Winfield, former longtime resident of Cicero and West Chicago, passed away on September 2, 2015. She was born in Cicero on June 27, 1920 to Andrzej and Wiktorya Sliwa.
Wanda helped support the family when her husband Jim was out on strike. She soldered circuit boards, wound electrical coils, and packed candy at local businesses. In addition, she kept the family well fed with her superb cooking. Later in life she was an Election Judge, Member of the Catholic Daughters and volunteered at the West Chicago Senior Center.
She is survived by two sons, Jim (Lin) Robin, and Tom (Carol) Robin; four Grandchildren; Jennifer Robin (Demers), Anne Robin (Heiberger), William Robin and Joseph Robin; two great-grandchildren Owen and Lila Demers; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jim in 1972; five sisters, Honore (Nora),Frances (Sr. Annette), Irene, Agnes and Angela; and four brothers; John, Walter, Benjamin and Joseph.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated Saturday, October 10, 2015 at 11:00 AM at St. John the Baptist, 0S233 Church Street, Winfield, Il 60190. Friends and family may gather at the church beginning at 10:30 AM. Contributions in Wanda’s memory may be made to Catholic Daughters of America, Court #432, 140 N. Oakwood, West Chicago, IL 60185
