Tom Overton

Tom Overton, age 89, formerly of West Chicago, passed away on Monday, March 1, 2010 at Delnor Hospital in Geneva. He was born in Leitchfield, KY on August 23, 1920 to John and Mary Overton. Tom was a WWII Us Navy Veteran. He was united in marriage on June 20, 1942 to Ruth Poole. Tom was a heavy equipment operator who enjoyed carving and working with wood. He was a member of Local 150 since 1955.
Tom is survived by his wife Ruth of 67 years of Geneva; son Tom (Sandy) Overton of Dekalb; two daughters; Nola (Doug) Walsh of St. Charles and Linda Overton of Spring, TX; 6 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.
Memorial visitation will take place on Thursday, March 4, 2010 from 1 pm until time of service 3 pm at Norris-Walen-Segert Funeral Home, 132 Fremont St., West Chicago. Inurnment Glen Oak Cemetery.
