Theresa 'Terry' Peterhans

Theresa “Terry” Peterhans (Coughlin) , 83, longtime resident of West Chicago, passed away on September 12, 2016. She was born on September 27, 1932 in Baltimore, MD to John and Helen Coughlin. Terry was united in marriage on September 12, 1953 to Donald Peterhans. She worked for many years as a customer service representative at Ball Seed in West Chicago. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, traveling, playing cards, and was proud to be a charter member of the Delnor Hospital Cardiac Group.

Terry is survived by her husband, of 63 years, Donald of West Chicago; children, Donald Jr. (Janice) Peterhans of Mt. Airy MD, Joyce (Robert) Oatley of Victoria, MN, Jeffrey Peterhans (Barbara Sudds) of Lombard and Sharon (John) Staton of West Chicago; grandchildren, Jamie Peterhans, Tara West, Lyndsey Murphey, William Peter (Maude Torp), Kelly (Joseph) Bengtson (Carver County MN Sheriff’s Deputy), SGT USMC Dale (Brandie) Staton, Carrie, Shawn and Jillian Staton; great-grandchildren, Colton, Weston and Kailyn; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, John Coughlin.

Visitation will be on Sunday, September 18, 2016 from 3:00-7:00 p.m. at Norris-Segert Funeral Home & Cremation Services , 132 Fremont St. West Chicago.  The funeral mass will be held on Monday, September 19, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary’s Church , 164 N. Oakwood Ave., West Chicago. Interment will be at the Assumption Cemetery on Winfield Road, Wheaton. A luncheon will be held immediately following at LeJardin at Cantigny Park , 1S151 Winfield Road. In lieu of flowers, donations in Terry’s memory may be made to St. Mary’s Church-New Church Fund , 140 N. Oakwood, West Chicago, IL 60185.
