Theodore "Ted" Risch, age 86, long-time resident of West Chicago, passed away Friday July 13, 2012, at Delnor Hosptial in Geneva. He was born in Elmhurst, IL, on November 10, 1925, to Theodore and Florence Risch.
Ted served in the US Army Air Corps during WWII. He was a founding partner of The Typographers, in Chicago, IL, and The Label Printers, in Aurora, IL. He also served on the West Chicago Planning Commission for several years.
Ted is survived by his wife, Mildred Miller; daughter, Barbara (Robert) Dieckmann of West Chicago; three grandsons, Brian Dieckmann, Jason (Megan) Dieckmann, and Alex (Emily Parris) Dieckmann; three great-grandchildren, Braden, Aubrey, and Kayla Dieckmann; sisters, Adele (Edward) Heissler, and Linda (Larry) Grant; and brother Gerald (Maria) Risch; Mildred's family, Jim (Kathy) Miller, Lynn Miller, Donna (John) Stahlhut, Corey (Julie) Bohler, and daughter Madison, Layne (Christina) Herdt, and son Jacob.
He is preceded in death by his parents, and wife, Marilyn in 2003.
Visitation will be held on Monday, July 16, 2012 from 4 to 8 pm at Norris-Walen-Segert Funeral Home, 132 Fremont St., West Chicago (One block north of Washington St. & Main St). Funeral services will take place on Tuesday, July 17, 2012 at 11 am at the funeral home. Reverend Denise Griebler officiating. Entombment Glen Oak Cemetery in West Chicago.
