Roy Volkert

Roy A. Volkert, age 66, of West Chicago, IL, passed away on Friday, October 22, 2011. Roy was born on October 13, 1945 in Elizabethtown, IL to Earl and Hildred Pyles Volkert, originally from Hardin County. He was married for over 40 years to the love of his life Carmen "Rose" who passed away in 2008. Roy worked for many years as a truck driver for Sysco Company. He enjoyed collecting Hummels and other collectibles.
Roy is survived by his brother, David (Debbie) Volkert of Springfield, IL and a host of other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He was the nephew of Golden Rogers of Karbers Ridge and Shirley Mae Volkert of Elizabethtown. An uncle, Loren Volkert lives in Tennessee.
He is preceded in death by his wife Carmen "Rose" who meant so much to him; his parents and two brothers, Earl and Douglas.
A memorial service will be held at the Dixon-Volkert Cemetery at 11AM on Saturday, November 5
