Robert W. Swanson

Robert W. Swanson , age 84, longtime resident of West Chicago, IL passed away on February 4, 2022. He was born September 19, 1937, in Chicago, IL to Harold and Cecile Swanson. He was a proud US Air Force Veteran. Bob was united in marriage on September 15, 1962, to Mary Schommer. He worked as a Technician for AT&T and was a chief union steward. Bob enjoyed reading and volunteering. He was a family man who loved teaching his children to fish and play baseball.

Bob is survived by his children, Steven Swanson, Scott Swanson, and Brian Swanson; grandchildren, Michael Swanson, Shane Swanson, Anna Swanson, and Maxwell Swanson; and relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary in January 2022 and his parents.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 12, 2022, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Norris-Segert Funeral Home & Cremation Services , 132 Fremont St. (one block north of Washington St. and Main), West Chicago.
