Robert P. Dierking, age 82, lifelong resident of West Chicago, passed away on Tuesday, December 25, 2012 at his loving daughter, Pam's house, in Glen Ellyn. He was born on November 6, 1930, to Paul and Anna (Schofield) Dierking. Bob was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps. After his discharge, he work at the Duenisch Music Company in Glen Ellyn, Ball's Greenhouse, became sole proprietor of the Tumble Inn and finally finished his career as a Deputy Sheriff for DuPage County. Bob was a member of A.L. Post 300 in West Chicago, member of the F.O.P., D.P.A. and was a volunteer on the West Chicago Fire Department. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, cooking and playing cards.
Bob is survived by is daughters, Karyn M. "Shelley" Hovde and family of Glen Ellyn, Sandy (George) Konn of Naperville, Pam Dierking (Terry) Frank of Glen Ellyn and Andrea Brady of Missoula, Montana; grandchildren, Verna Lynn, George Jr., Terry Allen, Ben, Tami, Bryan and Tracey; 17 great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents; wives, Loretta and Martha and brother, Edward.
Visitation will be held on Friday, December 28, 2012 from 3 to 9 pm at Norris-Walen-Segert Funeral Home, 132 Fremont St. West Chicago. (One block north of Washington St. & Main St).
