Richard Dierking

Richard A. Dierking , age 80,
lifelong resident of West Chicago,
US Air Force Veteran,
passed away on Monday, August 18, 2014.
He was born on December 15, 1933 in Aurora, IL to Arno and Helen Dierking. Dick’s dedication to West Chicago started with working at his parents’ stores, Arnie’s Groceries and Arbor Liquor Store. He joined the West Chicago Police Department where he served as Sergeant and retired as Deputy Chief. After retiring from the Police force, he worked at Grobe’s True Value and at the Winfield Township Office in West Chicago. Dick is survived by his wife of 56 years, Susan; two daughters, Laura (Fred) Toms and Sandra Ferrebee; five grandchildren, Michelle (Aaron) Rybski, Brian Toms, Bethany Toms, Aimee (Matthew) Zagorski and Stephany Ferrebee; great-granddaughter, Joanna Rybski; brother, Donald Dierking; sister, Victoria (Dennis) White; and nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents. Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 21, 2014 from 3 to 8 pm at Norris-Walen-Segert Funeral Home , 132 Fremont St., (one block north of Washington St. and Main) West Chicago. A funeral service will be held on Friday, August 22, 2014 at 10:00 AM at the Funeral Home. Interment Calvary Cemetery in West Chicago.
