Otilia Perez

Otilia was born on December 13, 1938 in Buenavista, Michoacan. She peacefully passed away the night of July 20th, 2026 surrounded by her family.

She was married to Luis Perez Hernandez and shared 58 years of a happy marriage. She was the daughter of Elpidio Perez and Rosa Duran. She grew up in Buenavista where she was the local assistant nurse, midwife and seamstress. She then immigrated to West Chicago where she was a proud house keeper for Pheasant Run for over 40 years.

She enjoyed dancing, family gatherings, telling jokes, sharing stories, watching telenovelas, cooking, and baking. She will be remembered for her strength, her wit and humor, work ethic, dedication to her family, her willingness to help others and her unconditional love.

She is survived by her 7 children; Olivia, Licha, Rosa (Felipe), Olga, Luis (Monica), Miguel, and Hugo. As well as her 29 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband Luis, and her daughters Lupe and Otilia.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 26, 2026 from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Norris-Segert Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 132 Fremont Street (One block north of Washington St. & Main St.) Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, July 27, 2026, at St. Mary's Church, 164 N. Oakwood Ave., West Chicago, IL at 10:00 a.m. Interment Calvary Cemetery.

Otilia nació el 13 de diciembre de 1938 en Buenavista, Michoacán. Ella falleció pacíficamente la noche del 20 de julio de 2026, rodeada de su familia.

Estuvo casada con Luis Pérez Hernández y compartió 58 años de un matrimonio feliz. Era hija de Elpidio Pérez y Rosa Durán (Rosa Durán). Creció en Buenavista, donde fue enfermera asistente, partera y costurera local. Luego emigró a West Chicago, donde fue una orgullosa ama de llaves en Pheasant Run por más de 40 años.

Le gustaba bailar, las reuniones familiares, contar chistes, compartir historias, ver telenovelas, cocinar y hornear. Será recordada por su fortaleza, su ingenio y humor, ética de trabajo, dedicación a su familia, disposición para ayudar a los demás y su amor incondicional.

Le sobreviven sus 7 hijos; Olivia, Licha, Rosa (Felipe), Olga, Luis (Mónica), Miguel y Hugo. Así como sus 29 nietos, 18 bisnietos y 1 tataranieto. La precedieron en la muerte su esposo Luis y sus hijas Lupe y Otilia.

 Velorio Domingo 26 de julio de 2026 - 2:00 p.m. a 7:00 p.m. en Norris-Segert Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 132 Fremont Street (una cuadra al norte de Washington St. & Main St.) La Misa fúnebre se celebrará el lunes 27 de julio de 2026 en la Iglesia de Santa Maria, 164 N. Oakwood, West Chicago, IL a las 10:00 a.m. Entierro Cementerio Calvary.
