Otilia Arias

Otila P. Arias , age 52, passed away peacefully the morning of September, 29, 2021, surrounded by her loving family. Otilia was born on August 28th, 1969 in Buena Vista, Michoacan Mexico. She was married to Miguel 'Pique' Arias and shared 23 years of a happy marriage. She was the daughter of Luis and Otilia Perez. She grew up in West Chicago and graduated from West Chicago Community High School. After high school, she earned her cosmetology license and was a stylist for a few years. She then moved on to work as a Paraprofessional at Joliet West High School where she enjoyed the last years of her career. She was a faithful member of Restoration Christian Church. She enjoyed family time, going on walks, watching movies, drawing, journaling, reading, gardening with her granddaughters, painting her nails, and family game nights. She will be remembered for her courage, strength, her laugh, loyalty, advice, and care for others. Her love and positive outlook on life will be greatly missed. She is survived by her 4 children; Miguel (Nano), Lizette (Monica), Tanya, and Vyanet; her loving granddaughters; Maiya, Laila, and Mia; her mother, Otilia Perez; her sisters, Olivia, Lupe (Pedro), Licha, Rosa (Felipe), Olga and brothers, Luis (Monica), Miguel, and Hugo. Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 2, 2021 from 3:00 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Norris-Segert Funeral Home and Cremation Services , 132 Fremont St. (one block north of Washington St. and Main St.), West Chicago. A funeral service will be at 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Cremation will be private.
