Odalis Amalia Castro Herrera, de Aurora, Illinois, falleció pacíficamente rodeada de sus seres queridos el 6 de junio de 2026 a los 28 años. Nació el 27 de septiembre de 1997, hija de Nelly Castro, en Elgin, Illinois. Pasó su infancia en Ciudad de México, México, antes de regresar a Estados Unidos para terminar el instituto. Se graduó en el instituto West Aurora. A Odalis le gustaba pasar tiempo con su familia y amigos, y era conocida por su sentido del humor, actitud positiva y espíritu valiente. Le sobreviven su abuela Amalia, su madre Nelly, su hermano Donovan (Allie), su hermana Jazmine (Chris), su sobrino Leonel y su sobrina Isabella, así como numerosos familiares lejanos.

Odalis Amalia Castro Herrera, of Aurora, Illinois, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on June 6, 2026 at the age of 28. She was born on September 27, 1997 to Nelly Castro in Elgin, Illinois. She spent her childhood in Mexico City, Mexico before returning to the US to finish high school. She was a graduate of West Aurora High School. Odalis enjoyed spending time with family and friends, and was known for her humor, positive attitude, and courageous spirit. She is survived by her grandmother Amalia, mother Nelly, her brother Donovan (Allie), sister Jazmine (Chris), nephew Leonel, and niece Isabella, as well as numerous extended family.
She is preceded in death by her grandfather, Ciro.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 14, 2026 from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Norris-Segert Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 132 Fremont Street (One block north of Washington St. & Main St.) Interment in Guanajuato, Mexico.
