Nanette Bertaut Connelly, age 83, of West Chicago, passed away Thursday, November 20, 2014. She was born on May 23, 1931 in Chicago, IL to Clarence and Bertha (Daudelin) Bertaut. Nan worked for over 28 years as a supervisor for USG Corp in Chicago. She was very active in politics in DuPage County and in West Chicago serving for over 40 years on the DuPage County Republican Committee, as Clerk for Winfield Township and as Alderman for the City of West Chicago over 10 years. Nan also was a proud and active member of the West Chicago Lions Club serving as President, Past President and Chairperson of the Sight & Sound committee. Her hobbies included sewing, knitting, crocheting, travelling and reading.
She is survived by her children, Terry (Diane) and Caroline (Steve Colquhoun) Connelly; grandchildren, Mac Colquhoun, Allen (Melissa), Glenn, Marie and Roger Connelly; Great-grandchildren, Ashland and Addae Connelly; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert; brothers, Clarence Jr, Donald, Edgard and Normand.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 23, 2014 from 12 to 8 pm at Norris-Walen-Segert Funeral Home, 132 Fremont St., West Chicago (One block north of Washington St. & Main St).
