Nancy Anne Warning (née Saeck), age 89, of Aurora and formerly of West Chicago, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 31, 2026. Born on June 14, 1936, in Geneva, IL to Francis and Ella (Giese) Saeck, she was a 1955 graduate of West Chicago Community High School and was united in marriage to the late Donald “Tom” Warning.
Throughout her life, Nancy was a lifetime member of Fox Valley Chapter Batavia O.E.S. Lodge #265. She served as a cook at Trinity Lutheran Church in West Chicago and worked for Ball Horticulture. Nancy’s love for sewing and embroidery was evident in the beautiful projects that adorned the walls of her home, each piece crafted with care and affection.
She is survived by her daughter, Sandra (Barry) Turnquist; three grandchildren: Leslie Anne (Patrick) Kelley, Mary Catherine (Joshua) Lundquist, and Brian James (Brenda) Turnquist; and four great-grandchildren: Ethan, Adelaide, Sienna, and Logan. Nancy is also remembered fondly by relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Donald Thomas Warning (2015); her son, Timothy Michael Warning (2024); and her sister, Elsie (late Richard) Blessman.
Memorial visitation will take place on Thursday, February 5, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Norris-Segert Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 132 Fremont St. (one block north of Washington St. and Main), West Chicago. Memorial services and Order of Eastern Star service will begin at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Private burial at Glen Oak Cemetery in West Chicago. For further information, please call 630-231-0060
