Michael Fontana

Michael Peter Fontana , age 72, passed away on August 16, 2020. He was born in Chicago, IL on August 6, 1948 to Valentino and Veronica Fontana. He served in the US Army during the Vietnam War and a Purple Heart recipient. Mike was united in marriage on January 14, 1978 to Sue Ellen Hand. He worked at Luse Company in sales for many years. Mike loved to travel with his family, going to antique car shows, gardening, sports, especially the Cubs, Bears and Blackhawks. He was a loving husband, father, brother and uncle.

Mike is survived by his wife of 42 years, Sue Ellen Fontana; sons, Michael, and Anthony Fontana; sister, Cathy Cundiff; faithful companion, Sophie; many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Ellen Majca and Rosemary Starbuck.

Memorial visitation for Mike will take place on Friday, August 21, 2020 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Norris-Segert Funeral Home and Cremation Services , 132 Fremont St. (one block north of Washington St. and Main) West Chicago. A memorial service will take place at 7:00 p.m. (Anyone attending the visitation is required to wear a facemask inside the funeral home as per state guidelines) .
