Marilyn J. Engstrom

Marilyn J. Engstrom (nee Selle), age 84, passed away on July 7, 2025. She was born in Chicago, IL on April 8, 1941 to Theodore “Bud” and Doretta Selle. Marilyn was huge Elvis fan, loved Harley’s, traveling the United States and was very active in AA. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Marilyn is survived by her daughter, Laurie Vargas (Grant Hedmark); grandchildren, Dayna Garcia (TJ Fulara), Kim (Jerad) Hickey, Stephanie (Ben) Stilke, Courtney Vargas (Collin Sudis), Fred Vargas, Rachel Virbickis (Kyle Polson) and Kyle Virbickis; 10 great-grandchildren; brother Bob (Mary) Selle; nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents Theodore “Bud” and Doretta Selle; husband, Harold “Geno” Engstrom; daughter, Lisa (Jim) Virbickis and brother, Richard “Rick” (Jenny) Selle.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 10, 2025 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Norris-Segert Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 132 Fremont St. (one block north of Washington St. and Main), West Chicago., IL. Family and friends are asked to meet directly at Ridgewood Memorial Park Cemetery, 9900 N. Milwaukee Ave., Des Plaines, IL on Friday, July 11, 2025 at 9:45 A.M. at the cemetery office and a 10 A.M. graveside service will follow
