Maria Garcia

Maria R. Garcia (Gomez) , age 73, of Aurora, Illinois passed away on July 25, 2020. She was born in Pharr, Texas on September 12, 1946 to Andres Sr. and Soledad Gomez. Maria worked at General Mills for 10 years, at a garden nursery, she nannied many children and was a caretaker for many elderly people. She was a private person but very active and she loved cooking, traveling, gardening, loved being outdoors, working out, shopping and dancing. She loved her family dearly.

Maria is survived by her husband, Monico Jr.; son, Monico III; granddaughter, Maliyah; brother, Jesse Gomez; sisters, Elva, Eva and Josefina; nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Danny, Andres Jr. and Ricardo.

Visitation will take place on Thursday, July 30, 2020 from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. at Norris-Segert Funeral Home & Cremation Services , 132 Fremont St. (one block north of Washington St. and Main), West Chicago. Interment to follow at Glen Oak Cemetery in West Chicago. (Anyone attending the visitation is required to wear a facemask inside the funeral home as per state guidelines) .
