Lee Jens Kjeldsen , age 96, of Wheaton, passed away on Saturday, February 21, 2015 at Westbridge in Wheaton. He was born on December 4, 1918 to Ki and Blanche Kjeldsen. On January 8, 1941, Lee was united in marriage to Mary Nagel. Lee owned and managed Ki’s Restaurant in Glen Ellyn for almost 30 years from the early 1950’s to early 1980’s. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, boater, pilot and golfer. He loved to dance. If you were to ask him, Lee would say, “I have had the pleasure of riding many wonderful horses and owning several great dogs.”

Lee is survived by his sister, Lillian Kouzmanoff; daughters, Karen (Richard) Sauer and Linda Ham (Lee Richter); son, Lane Kjeldsen; grandchildren, Susan (Mike) Acosta, Todd (April) Sauer, Lora (Jon) Kassaros, Joel (Elaine) Sauer and Alexandria (Dedrick) Ham-Luikens; 10 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Ramona Feltes; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Mary in 2006; grandson, Adam Ham and granddaughter Margo Ham.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 25, 2015 from 4 to 9 p.m. at Norris-Walen-Segert Funeral Home, 132 Fremont St. (one block north of Washington St. and Main) West Chicago. Prayers will begin on Thursday, February 26, 2015 at 9:30 a.m. at the funeral home and proceed to St. Mary’s Church, 164 N. Oakwood, West Chicago for Mass at 10:00 a.m. Interment Calvary Cemetery in West Chicago. In lieu of flowers contributions may be to St. Coletta’s of Illinois, 18350 Crossing Dr., Tinley Park, IL 60487 or Bartlett Learning Center, 125 E. Seminary, Wheaton, IL 60187.
