Juris 'George' Skreitulis

Juris “George” Skreitulis , age 88, a 40 year resident of West Chicago, passed away Tuesday, August 23, 2016. He was born on November 30, 1927 in Latvia to Maija and Janis Skreitulis. George worked for many years at Siemens Controls as a tool and die maker. He was a Merchant Marine Seaman who traveled the world. George loved gardening and fly fishing, especially teaching children the art of fly tying. He traveled to the Arctic Circle to fish and even swam in the Arctic Ocean. He was an active member of DRiFT- DuPage River Fly Tyers.

George is survived by his nephew, Peter (Barbara) Laimins of West Chicago and great-nephew, Eric (Astrid) Laimins of Chicago.

He was preceded in death by his parents; Maija and Janis Skreitulis; sisters, Marta Laimins and Merija Skreitulis.
