Joseph M. Szumal, age 96, US Army Korean War Veteran, passed away on June 26, 2025.

Loving son of the late Joseph Sr. (late Mary) Szumal;

Beloved husband of 68 years of the late Emma Dean Szumal (nee Wilson);

Loving father of Susan (Paul) Wucka, Nancy (Daniel) Kowalzyk and Christina (John) Rosean;

Loving grandfather of Paul (Julie) Wucka, Joseph (Tyler) Wucka, Allyson Wucka, Jacob Wucka (Bradley Grant), Amanda Kowalzyk (Eddie Collins), Zachary (Alanna) Kowalzyk, Emily Kowalzyk and John Randall Rosean;

Great-grandfather of Madison and Jackson Wucka and Kinsley Kowalzyk;

Dear brother of the late Edward (Antoinette) Szumal.

Uncle to many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will take place on Tuesday, July 1, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. until time of prayers at 11:15 a.m. at Norris-Segert Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 132 Fremont St., West Chicago. Procession to St. Mary's Church, 164 N. Oakwood Ave, West Chicago for Mass at 12:00 p.m. Noon. Interment to follow at Calvary Cemetery in West Chicago, IL.
