Irene Muilenburg

Irene F. Muilenburg, age 80, long time resident of West Chicago, passed away on Friday, June 29, 2012. She was born on March 15, 1932 in LaSalle, Illinois to Casimir and Mary Ann Zuchora. She graduated from LaSalle-Peru High School. Irene was united in marriage on August 29, 1953 to Calvin Muilenburg. She was a longtime member of St. Mary's Church where she attended daily mass and was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America. She was also a member of the West Chicago Garden Club, a Bunco group, and a cuddler at Central DuPage Hospital. Irene enjoyed attending flea markets and crafting and she especially loved her family.
She is survived by five children, Robert (April) Muilenburg of Geneva, Patricia (Ronald) Bluemel of Strum, WI, Mary (Joseph) Murphy of West Chicago, Carol (Timothy) McAdams of West Chicago and John (Christine) Muilenburg of Morris; eight grandchildren, Shannon (Joe) Ambelang, Daniel (Lori) Murphy, Jami Murphy, David Murphy, James and Matthew McAdams and Zachary and Kyle Muilenburg; three great-grandchildren, Colin, Lara and Ayla; four sisters, Helen Wagner, Emily Turczyn, Theresa (David) Zielinski and Clara Menne; and many nieces, nephews, family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Calvin in 1997; siblings, Josephine Brucki, Mary Szymski, Pearl Dauck and Floyd Zuchora; and grandson Michael Bluemel.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 5, 2012 from 3 to 8 pm at Norris-Walen-Segert Funeral Home, 132 Fremont St. (one block north of Washington St. and Main) West Chicago. Prayers Friday, July 6, 2012 at 9:30 am from the funeral home to St. Mary's Church, 164 N. Oakwood, West Chicago. Mass 10 am. Entombment at Assumption Cemetery in Wheaton.
