Howard William Born , age 81, a 77-year resident of West Chicago, passed away on July 29, 2020. He was born in Aurora, IL on October 14, 1938 to William and Yvonne (Youngsteadt) Born. He graduated from West Chicago Community High School in 1956 and then went on to graduate from Northern Illinois University where he was a member of the Alpha Phi Omega Fraternity. Howard was united in marriage on August 12, 1973 to Erlaine Brezina. He owned Born’s Picture Frames in West Chicago for many years. Howard was a longtime member of the First Congregational Church and Lion’s Club in West Chicago. He was a kind gentleman, always helping those in need. He loved art, classical music, cars, and an evening cocktail of Early Times or two.
Howard is survived by his wife, Erlaine Born, of 46 years; brother, Richard (late Marcia) Born; brother-in-law, Louis (Linda) Hendrickson; nephew, Gregory (Stephanie) Born, godson and nephew, Edward (Lois) Hendrickson, and Keith (Diane) Hendrickson; nieces, Vonnie Lynn Coleman and Pamela Fauts; goddaughter, Heather Newell; great-nieces; great-nephews, cousins, other relatives and lifelong friends, Charles (Cheryl) Patrick, Jane Ann Keen (Lloyd)-parents of Heather Newell, and 4 legged companion Blackie Boy Born.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Carolyn Hendrickson, father-in-law and mother-in-law, Erwin and Elaine Brezina, brother-in-law, Ronald Charles McAuley, and other relatives.
