Gregory John Gottschlich (1985–2026)

Greg Gottschlich, 40, of Bloomingdale, IL, passed away peacefully on March 26, 2026 at Loyola Medical Center in Maywood, IL after many years of chronic health struggles.

Greg was born on November 27, 1985 to Richard and Patricia (Byrne) Gottschlich. He grew up in Schaumburg, IL where he participated in Boy Scouts and played sports, including soccer and baseball. Greg graduated from Schaumburg High School in 2004. For the past several years, Greg was a dedicated employee of Woodman’s in Bloomingdale. He managed the overnight shift and developed deep relationships with many of his co-workers who became close friends.

Greg was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Pat. He is survived by his father, Richard (Paula Biggio) Gottschlich; 3 brothers Dan (Erika Polacek) Gottschlich, Steve (Liz) Gottschlich, and Richard Biggio-Gottschlich; 3 nephews (Aiden, Connor, and Benjamin); 1 niece (Nicole); and his beloved terrier, Belle. Greg was one of a kind – he was caring, friendly and talkative, with a great sense of humor. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and co-workers.

A Celebration of Greg's Life will take place on Saturday, May 9, 2026 at St. Marcelline Catholic Church, 822 Springinsguth Road, Schaumburg, IL at 9:30, with a funeral mass to follow at 10 am. We invite all who knew and loved Greg to join us in honoring his memory and celebrating his life.
