Gloria Riendeau

Gloria B. Riendeau passed away November 27, 2019 in Wheaton, Illinois surrounded by family.  Gloria was born May 1, 1930 in Chicago to Arthur & Jennie Wallander.  She graduated from Amundsen High School. She raised her children first in Addison, then Northwoods in West Chicago & then moved to Wheaton in 1972.  In 1977, the family moved to Wautoma, Wisconsin.

In 2002 Gloria moved to Minocqua, WI. The last few years she was living in Oak Brook & then Wheaton, Illinois.  In addition to raising her children, she had many part time jobs, including driving a bus for special needs individuals.  She was also involved in many organizations including American Legion Auxiliary, Women’s Club & Red Hat Ladies.  She volunteered many years for Special Olympics.  Over the years, she enjoyed knitting, gardening, bowling, dancing, playing cards, crafts, her Great Granny’s golf league & her Green Bay Packers.  For many years, Gloria traveled to Florida each winter & also traveled with her large family on many memorable driving vacations over the years.

Gloria is survived by her nine children: Jim Riendeau, Barbara Barry, Betty Tucknott (Robert), Beverly Kennebrew (Beon), Larry Riendeau (Sue), Mary Lee Geraghty (Raymond), David Riendeau (Kathy), Dean Riendeau & Laurie Neumann (Larry).  She was a Grandmother to 22 grandchildren, 36 great grandchildren & 5 great great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her 1st husband, William Brenngartner, her 2nd husband, Armand Riendeau & her 3rd husband, Douglas Schlichting, her two daughters, Lanette & Julie Riendeau, her daughter-in-law, Brenda Riendeau & her son-in-law, John Barry.

Visitation will be held from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 8 at Norris-Segert Funeral Home in West Chicago, IL.  A prayer service will be held at 5:00 p.m. with Rev. Brad Riendeau officiating. Burial will be in Central Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in King, Wisconsin.
