Faith Gates

Our beloved wife, mother, sister, and friend, Faith Gates, passed away peacefully on December 20, 2025, at the age of 83. She was a force of nature and the heart of our family.

Born and raised in Melrose Park, Faith was one of 12 children. She was steadfastly dedicated to her family. She found joy in cooking and baking, hosting family and friends, and, most of all, feeding the people she loved. Our home was always filled with the warmth of her love and the aroma of her cooking, whether it be marinara sauce with homemade meatballs on a Sunday, fresh bread in the oven, or a homemade apple pie.

Faith is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, Bob (“Pops”), her children, Liz (Pat), Bob (Elpida), Jim (Kelly), Mike (Julie), and Cathy (Rich); her 11 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren; and her surviving 5 siblings. She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings, and 2 granddaughters, Anna and Maya.

Visitation will be held on Monday, December 22, 2025 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Norris-Segert Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 132 Fremont Street, West Chicago. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, December 23, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Church, 164 N. Oakwood Ave, West Chicago. Interment to follow at Glen Oak Cemetery in West Chicago. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations in Faith's name to alz.org or covenantcareathome.org
