Emma H. Rios

Emma H. Rios, age 89, long-time resident of West Chicago, passed away on Monday, August 24, 2026. She was born on January 27, 1937 in Mexico to Hilario and Alicia Hernandez. Emma was united in marriage on August 7, 1959 to Onecimo Rios Jr. She was the former longtime owner of Casa Rios Boutique on Main Street in West Chicago for 35 years. She was known for custom-making and tailoring bridal and formal gowns.

Emma is survived by her children, Joel Rios, Maria Trejo, Gilbert Rios, Ismael Rios and Adrian Rios; 15 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; sisters, Isidra Rodriguez, Guadalupe Cantu and Martha Vallego; brother, Juan Hernandez; and relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Onecimo Jr. in 2017; daughter, Julia Tirado; and sister, Elva Martinez.

Visitation will be held on Friday, August 28, 2026 from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Norris-Segert Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 132 Fremont Street (One block north of Washington St. & Main St.) West Chicago. Funeral service on Saturday, August 29, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery in West Chicago.
