Eleanor Linnea 'Linn' Dierschow

October 19, 1928 — March 14, 2018

Eleanor Linnea “Linn” Dierschow (Benson) , age 89, of Geneva and formerly of West Chicago and Elburn, passed away on March 14, 2018. She was born on October 19, 1928 to John and Signe Benson. Linn attended Augustana Hospital School of Nursing in Chicago where she received her nursing degree. She then went on to work at Delnor Hospital, first as head of the surgical department and later as supervisor of the obstetrical department. She then went on to raise her children and went back into nursing at Delnor Hospital for many years after she raised her children. Linn was united in marriage on October 5, 1951 to Gordon Dierschow. She was a former member of the American Legion Post 300 Auxiliary where she served on several committees and was a member of the Elburn Lions Club. She was a great baker and homemaker who loved her family dearly.

Linn is survived by her husband, Gordon, of 66 years; daughter, Debbie (Ron) Ackerman and son, Don (Cindy) Dierschow; grandchildren, Amy (Tony) Millard, Matt Ackerman and step-grandson, Eric Lins; great-granddaughter, Tinley Eleanor Millard; and many relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 18, 2018 from 2 to 7 p.m. at Norris-Segert Funeral Home & Cremation Services , 132 Fremont St., West Chicago (One block north of Washington St. & Main St). Funeral services on Monday, March 19, 2018 at the funeral home at 10:00 a.m. Reverend Josh Ebener officiating. Interment Glen Oak Cemetery in West Chicago.
