Dolores 'Dee' Koziol-Brading

Dolores "Dee" Koziol-Brading (nee Malkowski) , age 83, longtime resident of West Chicago, passed away on July 5, 2021. She was born on October 31, 1937, in Chicago, IL to Joseph and Marie Malkowski. Dee worked as a waitress for many years which included John’s Buffet in Winfield and the Winfield House. She was a great cook. During the holidays, she would always drive to Chicago, stop at the Polish deli and bakery to pick up food for her family and friends. Dee was an avid bowler, having bowled in West Chicago over 55 years. She was inducted into the Bowling Hall of Fame. She was always an officer or voting delegate to State and National Conventions and received a 45year plaque in the national and state tournaments. She was a dedicated Chicago Cubs fan (even having a brick at Wrigley Field). She was a wonderful friend to many and even staying in touch with her classmates and running her class reunions. Dee enjoyed a joke or telling a great story and she loved playing a friendly game of cards with her friends. She loved politics taught by her father and was known for wearing slippers whether rain or shine.

Dee is survived by her sons, Joe, and Tony, 4 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, many relatives, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, Ronald Koziol and Jack Brading, sons, Ronald Koziol Jr. and James “Jimi”, and brother, Joseph Malkowski.

Memorial visitation for Dee will take place on Monday, July 12, 2021, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Norris-Segert Funeral Home and Cremation Services , 132 Fremont St. (one block north of Washington St. and Main) West Chicago.
