Dale Zarate

January 10, 1963 — August 20, 2020

Dale Zarate , age 57, of Warrenville, passed away on Thursday, August 20, 2020. He was born on January 10, 1963 in Geneva, IL to Leon and Arlene (Kroning) Zarate. Dale attended Trinity Lutheran and St John Lutheran grade school and Wheaton-Warrenville High School. While at WWHS, he attended DAVEA (DuPage Area Vocational Education Authority) where he studied the electrical field. He worked for Amp Rite Electrical Company, Efengee Electrical Supply and Tellabs before he received his electrical contractor’s license. He enjoyed woodworking and learned small engine repair on his own. Dale loved doing home improvement projects and working on many family and friends homes and their lawn and garden equipment as well. He was a lifelong member of Trinity Lutheran Church in West Chicago where he served as an usher for many years and also as a trustee.

Dale is survived by sisters; Cheryl (Ed) Perkis, Carol Pena and Meryl (John) Yorkson; brothers; Darrel Zarate and David Zarate; nieces and nephews; Dan, Joe and Jake Zarate, Brenda (Jason) Behrends, Katie and Dan Perkis, Lisa (David) Alonzo, Sheila Pena, Ricky (Nina) Pena and Aaron Yorkson; 8 great-nieces and great-nephews; and relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Arlene and Leon Zarate and brother, Gerald.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 29, 2020 from 11 a.m. until time of funeral service at 2 p.m. at Norris-Segert Funeral Home & Cremation Services , 132 Fremont St. (one block north of Washington St. & Main Street), West Chicago. (Anyone attending the visitation is required to wear a facemask inside the funeral home as per state guidelines) .  Reverend Fred Gaede officiating. Interment will follow at Glen Oak Cemetery in West Chicago.
