Candido Romero

February 2, 1928 — December 15, 2016

Candido Romero , of Oswego, formerly of West Chicago, peacefully ascended into heaven at on December 15th, 2016 at 88 years of age. A beloved husband to Gloria Romero, a cherished son of Rosalio Romero and Maria Landeros, a loving father of 7, Gilbert (Anita) Romero, Maria Graciela Romero, Armando (Maria), Jaime Romero (Kathleen)  Linda (Peter) Philipopoulos, David (Robin) Romero, and Theresa (Juan)Velazquez; and a dear grandfather of 9 and great grandfather of 8. Candido was held at the center of everyone’s heart who crossed his path. He was preceded in death by his wife, Gloria and son, Armando.

In his early years Candido was a devout religious man and a fantastic baseball player. Born in Dolores Hidalgo, México: he worked, played, and prayed until he met and married his wife Gloria, subsequently moving to the United States where he raised his family in West Chicago, IL. Candido took pride in his family and after his many years has instilled in each and every one of his children the importance of family, an importance that has been and will be continue to be passed down through every generation that stems from the beautifully vibrant house he and his wife created. His legacy will always be defined and will forever remain alive through his greatest contribution to the world: his family. Spending time with his family, seeing every one of us succeed and be happy, that was what made Candido’s life special to him.

It is with loving gratitude that we celebrate today, on December 16, 2016, not only his reunion with his beloved wife and family in heaven but also the lasting impact that his unconditional and absolute love made in all of his family and friends. Although he is now resting in peace in heaven, his memory will always remain alive in the hearts of all of us.
