Bruce A. Kerill

Bruce “Peepa” Allen Kerill, age 71, of West Chicago, Illinois passed away peacefully on Friday October 16, 2026.

He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Carol; his stepchildren Kristine (Jeremy), Kari-ane (Matt), John (Kat); his grandchildren Kace, Rayden, JR; his brother Mark; and many extended family members, close friends, and granddogs.

He was preceded in death by his mother Joan, father Robert, and sister Laura.

Bruce was born on September 15, 1955 in Chicago, Illinois. He grew up in Chicago alongside his twin brother who had more hair, Mark and younger sister Laura. After graduating high school, he went on to work many jobs including the post office, truck driving for Pepsi, and for the Village of Glendale Heights. Even in his retirement, Bruce found himself being a co-owner and operational pillar of Central Bark, a doggy daycare in Carol Stream.

Bruce had a true enthusiasm for what he loved: Harley Davidson motorcycles, Chicago sports, dogs, his country, and above all his friends and family. Everyone close to him would describe him as their best friend and he had no problem making friends wherever he went. He had a personality and heart proportionate to his burly stature. Bruce was selfless, dependable, and quick to lift the burden for those privileged to have him in their life. He was always the first to offer a helping hand at the first mention of struggle yet never one to complain about his own. If you needed a ride, help with an odd job, or a guy who knows a guy, Bruce had your back come hell or highwater. He had a good heart behind his tough exterior, but would also not hesitate to be intimidating to defend what mattered most to him.
