Beverly "Bev" J. McFarland

Beverly (“Bev”) Jean McFarland reached the end of her wonderful life on May 16, 2024, at the age of 82.

Bev was born on September 27, 1941, in Green Bay Wisconsin. Her family owned and operated a flower shop where she worked and grew her love of flowers and plants. After graduation from high school, she moved to the Chicago area and attended airline school in Kansas City. While working at Continental Airlines, she met her future husband, Carl Wayne McFarland at a company picnic and they have been inseparable ever since. They were married in September 1961 and raised three children in the Chicago area where they lived for their 62 years of marriage. 

Bev was a successful realtor for over 30 years in the Northwest Chicago suburbs. She won top sales awards and had many accomplishments in her real estate career.

She loved to relax at her second home in Three Lakes, Wisconsin, that she built with her husband Carl and where they’d spend time on their porch swing gazing at Long Lake. Her favorite times were when her family would come up to enjoy the lake, boating and Friday fish fry. 

Bev is survived by her husband Carl and three children, Cathy Lee (Barbaccia) and her husband Domenic, Carl Wayne II and his wife Lucy, and Craig Alan. She leaves behind her four grandchildren: Christina Barbaccia, Nicolas Barbaccia, Zachary McFarland, and Joshua McFarland and two great-grandchildren, Aleah Barbaccia and Mason Barbaccia. She is also survived by her sister, Gloria Marske, and her husband Dave. She also leaves many nieces and nephews and dear friends. 

Visitation will take place on Wednesday, May 29, 2024 from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Norris-Segert Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 132 Fremont Street, West Chicago. Funeral Service at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment to immediately follow at Glen Oak Cemetery in West Chicago.
