Amanda 'Amy' Mascheri

Amanda M. Mascheri (Oshinski) passed away on November 4, 2019 at the age of 43. She was born in Chicago, IL on May 31, 1976 to James and Shirley Oshinski.

She was preceded in death by her father, James Oshinski and grandparents.

Amy is survived by her children, Kai, Cora and Mila; mother, Shirley (Sam) Oshinski (David Ocampo); sister, Jennifer Oshinski (Aaron Porter); special brother, Robert Ocampo; nephew, Christian; special cousin, Michael Hallman, many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Amy was a server at Dave and Busters in Addison for more than 20 years, her coworkers are not only her friends but family too. She was a compassionate and patient preschool teacher at St. Charles Park District Nature Center for several years. Amy was dedicated, devoted and loved her children more than anything.  She shared with them her life-long love of baseball (especially the Chicago Cubs), cooking, music, and everything Disney. In her free time, she spent endless hours supporting her girls, their friends, and families working in and around the dance studio. Amy had a bachelor’s degree in marine biology where she studied at Northern Illinois and Eckerd College.  She was an enthusiast of nature, animals and anything related to conservation and the environment. Amy will always be a positive inspiration to all of us of how to embrace life, love, be kind and make the world a better place.

A celebration of Amy’s life will be held on Saturday, November 16, 2019 from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Norris-Segert Funeral Home & Cremation Services , 132 Fremont St. (one block north of Washington St. & Main Street) West Chicago. I n lieu of flowers, donations in Amy’s memory may be made to” For the Benefit of Amanda (Amy) Mascheri” or electronic donation made thru Zelle thru phone number 630-973-0510
