KEITH SANDER EBERSOLD, lifetime Downers Grove resident, was called to his heavenly home on August 2, 2019, surrounded by his loving family. Keith was born September 13, 1935 to his parents, Fred and Marguerite Sander Ebersold, who preceded him in death, as did his elder brother, Ken Ebersold and sister-in-law, June McLaughlin Ebersold.
He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Joan Flemming Ebersold; daughter Joanne Ebersold Orozco and her son, Ben; son Kent and daughter-in-law Leslie Boyle Ebersold and their sons Jack and Sam; and daughter Sue Ebersold and her significant one Alex Golovin. Survivors also include nieces Donna Ebersold Fletcher (Gary); Nancy Ebersold Bifulco (Edward) and their daughter Olivia.
A memorial service will be held at the Downers Grove First United Methodist Church, 1032 Maple Avenue, on Sunday, September 15th at 3 p.m., with a reception following the service. Visitation will take place from 1:30 p.m. until the time of the service.
Those wishing to honor Keith may contribute to the Downers Grove First United Methodist Church, where he was actively involved his entire life, or to one of his favorite charities. They include the Northern Illinois Food Bank, The Wellness House in Hinsdale, Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago, St. Jude's, and the USO.
Keith touched the lives of many through his involvement in the family business, the community, and his church. He retained a close bond with classmates from Avery Coonley School, and the DGHS Class of 1953. He was a 1957 graduate of the University of Illinois College of Commerce. His family, many friends and neighbors will remember Keith for his caring spirit, his sharp mind, his big smile, his interest in and loyalty to them, as well as his love of antiques and gardening.
